Career.zycto is actively seeking a diligent and safety-conscious Aviation Fueler to join our client’s airport operations team, serving the vibrant St. Clair Shores community and the broader Detroit metropolitan area. Key Responsibilities
- Operate aviation fueling equipment, including fuel trucks and hydrant carts, safely and efficiently.
- Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of fueling vehicles and equipment, reporting any deficiencies.
- Conduct precise fueling and defueling of various aircraft types (commercial, cargo, general aviation) following strict airline and airport procedures.
- Adhere rigorously to all company, airport, FAA, and environmental safety regulations and protocols.
- Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including fuel tickets, logbooks, and safety checklists.
- Communicate effectively with pilots, ground crew, and dispatch to ensure smooth and timely operations.
- Respond promptly and appropriately to fuel spills or other emergency situations, utilizing proper containment and reporting procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including fueling equipment and storage facilities.
Required Skills
- Valid state Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Ability to obtain and maintain airport badges and security clearances.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand, walk, climb, and perform duties in all weather conditions.
- Basic mechanical aptitude for operating and inspecting equipment.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions accurately.
- Basic mathematical skills for fuel calculations and record-keeping.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in a fueling role (aviation, commercial trucking, heavy equipment).
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with HazMat endorsement.
- Prior experience working in an airport or other highly regulated industrial environment.
