Your day-to-day will involve interpreting complex blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings to plan machining operations, selecting the appropriate cutting tools, and calculating precise measurements and tolerances.

Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate manual lathes, milling machines, drill presses, and grinders to produce precision parts.
- Interpret engineering blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine machining operations.
- Select, install, and adjust appropriate cutting tools and work holding devices.
- Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth of cut.
- Perform in-process and final inspections of machined parts using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
- Monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining.
- Perform routine machine maintenance, cleaning, and minor troubleshooting.
- Adhere strictly to all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize manufacturing processes and resolve issues.
- Document work performed, including dimensions, specifications, and any deviations.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in operating manual lathes, milling machines, and surface grinders.
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and engineering drawings.
- Expertise in using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, bore gauges).
- Solid understanding of metal properties, cutting tools, and machining principles.
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations for dimensions, tolerances, and speeds/feeds.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, precise parts.
