Job Description

This role is for a proactive and passionate Booking Agent specializing in music, ready to make a significant impact on Fredericton’s vibrant arts scene. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage booking calendars and tour schedules for a roster of musical artists across various genres.
  • Proactively research and identify suitable performance venues, festivals, and corporate events.
  • Initiate contact and build strong, lasting relationships with venue owners, promoters, and talent buyers.
  • Negotiate performance fees, contract terms, and technical riders to secure advantageous bookings.
  • Draft, review, and finalize booking contracts, ensuring all parties adhere to agreements and deadlines.
  • Coordinate logistical details for artist performances, including travel, accommodation, and technical requirements.
  • Monitor and analyze booking trends, market demands, and competitor activities to inform booking strategies.
  • Maintain accurate records of all artist engagements, communications, and financial transactions.
  • Collaborate closely with artists and their management teams to understand career goals and booking preferences.
  • Represent Career.zycto professionally at industry events, showcases, and networking opportunities.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in talent booking, artist management, or live event coordination, specifically within the music industry.
  • Proven track record of successfully booking artists for various venues and events.
  • Exceptional negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organizational abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in CRM software, booking management platforms, and standard office suites (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Workspace).
  • Deep understanding of the live music ecosystem, including venue types, promoter roles, and industry standards.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment.
  • A valid driver's license and willingness to travel within New Brunswick and potentially beyond.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Music Business, Arts Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Existing network of contacts within the Canadian music industry, particularly in the Maritimes.
  • Experience with contract law pertaining to entertainment and intellectual property.
  • Familiarity with marketing and promotional strategies for musical artists.
  • Fluency in both English and French is considered a significant asset.
