Job Description
Career.zycto is actively seeking enthusiastic and hardworking General Laborers to join our growing construction team in the Twelve Oaks, Novi area. This is an exceptional opportunity for individuals eager to start a career in construction, as no prior experience is required. We are committed to providing comprehensive on-the-job training, ensuring you gain the skills and knowledge needed to excel in the industry. As a General Laborer, you will play a crucial role in supporting various construction activities, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and assisting skilled tradespeople. Key Responsibilities
- Assist skilled tradespeople (carpenters, electricians, plumbers, etc.) with various tasks.
- Load and unload construction materials, tools, and equipment.
- Prepare construction sites by cleaning debris, setting up safety barriers, and organizing tools.
- Perform manual digging, trenching, and backfilling duties.
- Operate basic hand and power tools under supervision.
- Ensure all work areas are kept clean, tidy, and free of hazards.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures diligently.
- Remove trash, hazardous materials, and other waste from job sites.
- Support the setup and dismantling of temporary structures and scaffolding.
- Complete general site clean-up at the end of each workday.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform strenuous physical tasks, including lifting heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), bending, stooping, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Willingness to learn new skills and follow instructions.
- Commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
- Basic understanding of English for communication and safety instructions.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites.
- Previous experience working in an outdoor, physically demanding environment.
- OSHA 10-hour Construction Safety certification (we can assist in obtaining this if needed).
