Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking compassionate and reliable individuals to join our team as Weekend Caregivers in the historic and vibrant Old Quebec, Quebec City area. This essential role focuses specifically on providing dedicated care and support during weekend shifts, ensuring our clients receive consistent, high-quality assistance when they need it most. As a Weekend Caregiver, you will be a vital link in maintaining the independence and well-being of our clients within the comfort of their own homes. Your day-to-day will involve a variety of tasks tailored to each client’s unique needs, focusing on personal care, daily living assistance, and genuine companionship. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene.
  • Provide medication reminders and ensure timely adherence to prescribed schedules.
  • Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding, adhering to dietary restrictions.
  • Perform light housekeeping duties such as tidying living areas, laundry, and maintaining a clean environment.
  • Offer companionship and engage clients in stimulating activities, conversations, and outings (if applicable and safe).
  • Assist with mobility, transfers, and ambulation, using appropriate safety techniques and equipment.
  • Accompany clients to appointments or run errands as needed.
  • Monitor and report any changes in the client's health, behavior, or living conditions to the care coordinator.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services provided and client observations.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and ethical standards.

Required Skills

  • Previous experience in caregiving, personal support, or a related field (minimum 6 months)
  • Demonstrated empathy, patience, and a compassionate demeanor.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Physical ability to assist clients with mobility and perform light household tasks.
  • Basic knowledge of first aid and emergency procedures.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
  • Fluent in English; functional French is a strong asset.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completion of a Personal Support Worker (PSW) program, Health Care Aide (HCA) certificate, or equivalent.
  • Experience working with individuals with dementia or other cognitive impairments.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
