Job Description

We are actively seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Physician Assistant to join our dynamic Urgent Care team. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient histories and physical examinations for patients presenting with urgent medical conditions.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including X-rays, ECGs, and laboratory studies.
  • Formulate differential diagnoses and develop appropriate treatment plans under the supervision of a physician.
  • Prescribe medications, perform minor procedures (e.g., suturing, splinting, I&D), and manage wounds.
  • Provide patient education regarding their condition, treatment plan, and preventative care.
  • Collaborate effectively with supervising physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough electronic medical records (EMR) documentation.
  • Adhere to all clinical protocols, policies, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and continuing medical education.
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and organized clinical environment for patients and staff.

Required Skills

  • Current PA licensure in the UK (e.g., registered with the GMC or equivalent regulatory body if applicable for PAs in the UK system).
  • Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies or equivalent.
  • Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills in an urgent care or emergency medicine setting.
  • Proficiency in common urgent care procedures (e.g., suturing, splinting, wound care).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-first approach.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a high-volume patient flow efficiently and calmly.
  • Proficiency in using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
  • Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience working as a Physician Associate/Assistant in a UK urgent care center or A&E department.
  • Experience with point-of-care testing.
  • Additional certifications such as Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
  • Proficiency in a second language relevant to the local community.
