We are actively seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Physician Assistant to join our dynamic Urgent Care team. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient histories and physical examinations for patients presenting with urgent medical conditions.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including X-rays, ECGs, and laboratory studies.
- Formulate differential diagnoses and develop appropriate treatment plans under the supervision of a physician.
- Prescribe medications, perform minor procedures (e.g., suturing, splinting, I&D), and manage wounds.
- Provide patient education regarding their condition, treatment plan, and preventative care.
- Collaborate effectively with supervising physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate and thorough electronic medical records (EMR) documentation.
- Adhere to all clinical protocols, policies, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and continuing medical education.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and organized clinical environment for patients and staff.
Required Skills
- Current PA licensure in the UK (e.g., registered with the GMC or equivalent regulatory body if applicable for PAs in the UK system).
- Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies or equivalent.
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills in an urgent care or emergency medicine setting.
- Proficiency in common urgent care procedures (e.g., suturing, splinting, wound care).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-first approach.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a high-volume patient flow efficiently and calmly.
- Proficiency in using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
- Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience working as a Physician Associate/Assistant in a UK urgent care center or A&E department.
- Experience with point-of-care testing.
- Additional certifications such as Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
- Proficiency in a second language relevant to the local community.
