Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive intake assessments to evaluate clients' mental health needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Provide individual, group, and family therapy sessions utilizing evidence-based therapeutic modalities (e.g., CBT, DBT, ACT, psychodynamic).
- Maintain accurate and timely client records, progress notes, and other documentation in compliance with ethical and legal standards.
- Collaborate with clients to establish measurable goals and monitor progress throughout the course of treatment.
- Offer crisis intervention and support as needed, coordinating with emergency services when appropriate.
- Participate in regular clinical supervision and team meetings to discuss cases, share insights, and enhance professional skills.
- Develop and facilitate psychoeducational workshops or groups on various mental health topics.
- Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and maintain strict client confidentiality.
- Engage in continuous professional development to stay current with best practices in mental health counseling.
Required Skills
- Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field.
- Current, active, and unrestricted licensure as a Mental Health Professional (e.g., LPCC, LICSW, LMFT) in the state of Minnesota.
- Minimum of 2 years of post-licensure clinical experience in providing mental health counseling.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective individualized treatment plans.
- Proficiency in various therapeutic modalities and evidence-based practices.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and active listening skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for record-keeping.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Cultural competence and sensitivity to diverse populations and backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with a diverse range of ages and presenting issues.
- Specialized training or certification in specific therapeutic areas (e.g., trauma-informed care, EMDR, Gottman Method).
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Bilingual proficiency is a plus, particularly in Spanish or Somali.
- Experience with teletherapy platforms and remote counseling.
