Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare surfaces for painting, including cleaning, sanding, scraping, spackling, taping, and repairing walls as needed.
  • Apply paint, varnish, stain, and other finishes to residential interior and exterior surfaces using brushes, rollers, and sprayers.
  • Operate and maintain painting equipment, ensuring proper care and cleanliness.
  • Mix and match paint colors to ensure consistency and achieve desired hues.
  • Erect scaffolding, ladders, and other platforms safely and efficiently.
  • Protect surrounding areas with drop cloths, tape, and plastic sheeting to prevent damage and overspray.
  • Communicate effectively with clients regarding project details, timelines, and expectations.
  • Inspect finished surfaces to ensure high-quality results, address imperfections, and perform touch-ups.
  • Adhere strictly to safety guidelines and proper handling of hazardous materials.
  • Manage project timelines efficiently to meet agreed-upon deadlines while maintaining flexibility.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment throughout the project duration.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in residential painting techniques (brush, roller, spray)
  • Strong knowledge of surface preparation methods and materials
  • Excellent attention to detail and precision in application
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Proficiency in color matching and paint mixing
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for client interaction
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy equipment, climb ladders, and stand for extended periods
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of professional residential painting experience
  • Experience with specialized finishes or decorative painting techniques
  • OSHA safety certification
  • Possession of personal painting tools and equipment
  • A portfolio of previous residential painting projects
