Key Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces for painting, including cleaning, sanding, scraping, spackling, taping, and repairing walls as needed.
- Apply paint, varnish, stain, and other finishes to residential interior and exterior surfaces using brushes, rollers, and sprayers.
- Operate and maintain painting equipment, ensuring proper care and cleanliness.
- Mix and match paint colors to ensure consistency and achieve desired hues.
- Erect scaffolding, ladders, and other platforms safely and efficiently.
- Protect surrounding areas with drop cloths, tape, and plastic sheeting to prevent damage and overspray.
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding project details, timelines, and expectations.
- Inspect finished surfaces to ensure high-quality results, address imperfections, and perform touch-ups.
- Adhere strictly to safety guidelines and proper handling of hazardous materials.
- Manage project timelines efficiently to meet agreed-upon deadlines while maintaining flexibility.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment throughout the project duration.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in residential painting techniques (brush, roller, spray)
- Strong knowledge of surface preparation methods and materials
- Excellent attention to detail and precision in application
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Proficiency in color matching and paint mixing
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for client interaction
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy equipment, climb ladders, and stand for extended periods
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
