Key Responsibilities
- Assist journeyman electricians with the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in various settings.
- Learn to identify, cut, bend, and install electrical conduit and wiring.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams under supervision.
- Observe and practice safe work procedures, adhering to all local and national electrical codes (NEC).
- Prepare and clean job sites, including loading and unloading materials and tools.
- Perform basic tasks such as digging trenches, running wires, and securing electrical components.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working order.
- Actively participate in on-the-job training and classroom instruction.
- Ask questions and seek understanding of complex electrical concepts and practical applications.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED
- Strong desire to learn and develop a career in the electrical trade
- Basic understanding of mathematics and measurements
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and efficiently
