Job Description
We are actively seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious Warehouse Forklift Operator to join a dynamic team in the Riverview, Moncton area. This immediate start position is critical to maintaining the efficient flow of goods within our partner’s busy distribution centre. You will be responsible for operating various types of forklifts (reach, counterbalance, order picker) to move, stack, load, and unload materials, ensuring all tasks are completed accurately and safely. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, a strong commitment to workplace safety, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts (counterbalance, reach truck, order picker, etc.) safely and efficiently to move products, equipment, and materials.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring proper weight distribution and securement of loads.
- Stack and store merchandise in appropriate warehouse locations, optimizing space and accessibility.
- Perform daily pre-shift inspections of forklifts and maintain accurate equipment logs.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, company policies, and provincial regulations.
- Assist with inventory counts and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding daily tasks and potential issues.
Required Skills
- Valid forklift certification for counterbalance and/or reach truck operation.
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or distribution setting.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and practices.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks associated with warehouse work.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Reliable transportation to and from the Riverview location.
- Basic computer literacy for inventory scanning and data entry.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) such as SAP or Oracle.
- Certification or experience with additional material handling equipment (e.g., clamp trucks).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven track record of punctuality and reliability.
