Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain optimal inventory control procedures and systems.
  • Monitor inventory levels and initiate replenishment orders to prevent stockouts and overstock situations.
  • Conduct regular inventory counts (cycle counts, physical inventory) and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Analyze inventory data, identify trends, and provide insights to improve forecasting accuracy and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with purchasing, production, and sales teams to optimize material flow and meet demand.
  • Manage and resolve issues related to inventory accuracy, damage, and obsolescence.
  • Implement and manage warehouse layout and organization for efficient storage and retrieval.
  • Develop and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for inventory management.
  • Lead and mentor a small team of inventory control specialists or warehouse staff.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations.
  • Utilize ERP/WMS systems for all inventory transactions and reporting.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as an Inventory Manager or similar role (minimum 4 years).
  • Strong understanding of inventory management principles and best practices.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software (e.g., ERP systems, WMS).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Certifications in Supply Chain Management (e.g., APICS CSCP, CPIM).
  • Experience with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Familiarity with local Tupelo/Mississippi supply chain networks.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
