Job Description

We are actively seeking a highly skilled and experienced Stucco Plasterer with a strong background in Exterior Insulation Finishing Systems (EIFS) to join our esteemed network of construction professionals in the Downtown Torrington area. This is an immediate hiring opportunity for an individual dedicated to precision, quality, and safety in exterior finishing.

As a Stucco Plasterer specializing in EIFS, you will be instrumental in transforming the exteriors of residential and commercial properties, ensuring both aesthetic appeal and robust insulation performance. You will be responsible for preparing surfaces, applying various layers of stucco and EIFS materials, creating diverse textures, and meticulously ensuring a flawless finish. Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare surfaces by cleaning, patching, and applying primers or base coats as necessary for stucco and EIFS applications.
  • Measure, cut, and install insulation boards and mesh according to project specifications and architectural drawings.
  • Mix and apply stucco and EIFS materials, including base coats, finish coats, and specialized textures, with precision and consistency.
  • Ensure proper curing and drying times for all applied materials.
  • Utilize various tools and techniques to achieve desired finishes, textures, and decorative elements.
  • Perform quality checks on all work to ensure adherence to design specifications, industry standards, and building codes.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all company and OSHA safety regulations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to plaster application and finish quality.
  • Collaborate effectively with project managers, other trades, and team members to ensure project timelines and goals are met.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to execute work accurately.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 2 years of proven experience as a Stucco Plasterer or EIFS applicator.
  • Proficiency in applying various stucco finishes (e.g., smooth, sand, dash) and EIFS systems.
  • Strong understanding of building codes and safety regulations pertinent to exterior finishing.
  • Ability to accurately measure, cut, and install insulation and mesh.
  • Demonstrated skill in surface preparation and material mixing.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality craftsmanship.
  • Physical ability to perform demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials, standing for long periods, and working at heights.
  • Reliable transportation to job sites in and around Torrington, CT.

Preferred Qualifications

  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
  • Experience with specialty plastering techniques or historical restoration projects.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to operate scissor lifts or boom lifts (certification preferred).
