Key Responsibilities
- Design, set up, program, and operate various lighting systems for live events, theatre, and corporate functions.
- Conduct thorough pre-event checks, routine maintenance, and efficient troubleshooting of all lighting equipment.
- Collaborate closely with event producers, directors, and other technical crew to achieve desired visual and atmospheric effects.
- Ensure all lighting installations adhere strictly to health and safety standards and relevant industry regulations.
- Manage power distribution and cabling requirements for complex lighting setups, ensuring stability and safety.
- Assist with the efficient load-in and load-out of equipment, ensuring proper handling, transport, and secure storage.
- Adapt lighting designs and operational plans to suit evolving event requirements and on-the-spot adjustments.
- Stay informed about industry trends, new lighting technologies, and best practices to maintain a competitive edge.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in operating professional lighting consoles (e.g., Avolites, grandMA, Chamsys)
- Strong understanding of DMX, Art-Net, and other relevant lighting communication protocols
- Extensive knowledge of conventional, LED, and intelligent moving lighting fixtures
- Ability to accurately read and interpret lighting plots, schematics, and technical drawings
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills under pressure
- Demonstrated strong understanding of electrical safety procedures and practices
- Physical stamina and ability to lift, carry, and set up heavy equipment safely
- Effective communication and teamwork skills for collaborative project environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant technical qualification or certification in lighting design, stage technology, or electrical engineering
- Experience with CAD software for lighting design (e.g., Vectorworks Spotlight)
- Familiarity with media servers and video integration for live events
