Career.zycto is seeking a highly analytical and meticulous Cost Estimator to join our dynamic team, supporting our partners in the robust Madison construction and development sector. In this full-time role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the financial viability and strategic planning of various projects, from initial concept to completion. We are looking for a professional who can expertly analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate, competitive, and timely cost estimates that drive successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for projects by analyzing blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and sales teams to understand project scope and requirements.
- Source and analyze quotes from suppliers and subcontractors for materials, labor, and equipment.
- Identify and assess potential risks, contingencies, and opportunities that may affect project costs.
- Develop and maintain a database of cost information for future reference and benchmarking.
- Present prepared estimates and proposals to internal teams and external stakeholders, articulating assumptions and methodologies.
- Stay informed about industry trends, material costs, construction methods, and regulatory changes.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits to gain a better understanding of project conditions.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in cost estimating software (e.g., HeavyBid, AccuBid, Sage Timberline).
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of construction materials, methods, and procedures.
- Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- Professional certification (e.g., Certified Professional Estimator – CPE).
