Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning and delivery of engaging, age-appropriate activities and educational programs.
- Support children's personal care routines, including feeding, nappy changing, and hygiene.
- Observe and monitor children's development, reporting any concerns or achievements to senior staff.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organised learning environment in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues, fostering open communication.
- Encourage positive behaviour, social interaction, and emotional development among children.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and continuous professional development.
- Ensure all safeguarding procedures are strictly adhered to, prioritising the welfare of all children.
Required Skills
- A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient and empathetic approach.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required.
- A strong understanding of child safeguarding and welfare principles.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the varying needs of children and the nursery setting.
- Basic knowledge of early years foundation stage (EYFS) framework (or willingness to learn).
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Early Years Education and Childcare (or equivalent qualification).
- Previous experience working in a nursery, preschool, or other childcare setting.
- First Aid certification (Paediatric First Aid desirable).
- Knowledge of various early learning methodologies and practices.
