Career.zycto is seeking a highly motivated and eager-to-learn Entry-Level Data Center Technician to join our growing team in Downtown, St. Louis. As a Data Center Technician, you will be instrumental in the day-to-day operations of our state-of-the-art data center, ensuring the continuous availability and optimal performance of our server infrastructure. You will work alongside experienced professionals, gaining valuable hands-on experience with hardware installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and network cabling. Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the installation, cabling, and removal of servers, network devices, and other data center hardware.
- Perform basic hardware troubleshooting and component replacement (e.g., drives, memory, power supplies).
- Monitor data center infrastructure and environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, power).
- Maintain accurate inventory of all data center equipment and assets.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all data center tasks.
- Document work performed, incidents, and resolutions clearly and concisely.
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the data center floor and equipment racks.
- Collaborate with senior technicians and other IT teams to resolve issues efficiently.
Required Skills
- Basic understanding of computer hardware components (CPU, RAM, HDD/SSD, NIC)
- Strong willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+)
- Experience with Linux command line or basic networking concepts
- Associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- Previous experience working in a hands-on technical support role
