Key Responsibilities
- Safely and compassionately transport patients via wheelchairs, beds, and stretchers between departments (e.g., wards, operating theatres, imaging, clinics).
- Move medical equipment, laboratory specimens, blood products, and confidential documents promptly and securely.
- Assist with the transfer of deceased patients to the mortuary, maintaining respect and dignity.
- Manage and transport clean and soiled linen, waste, and recycling according to hospital protocols.
- Ensure cleanliness and proper storage of transport equipment (e.g., wheelchairs, trolleys).
- Provide clear and courteous communication with patients, visitors, and staff.
- Adhere strictly to infection control, health and safety guidelines, and patient confidentiality policies.
- Respond promptly to requests for porter services, prioritizing urgent situations.
- Maintain accurate records of transport activities as required.
