As a Work Coach, you will be at the forefront of our mission, working directly with individuals from diverse backgrounds to identify their strengths, develop personalised action plans, and connect them with suitable job opportunities, training, and support services. Your role will involve conducting one-to-one coaching sessions, facilitating group workshops, and building strong relationships with local employers and community organisations to create a robust network of opportunities for our clients. You’ll need to be adept at navigating various complex situations, providing both practical advice and emotional support, ensuring every individual feels valued and empowered throughout their journey.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct one-to-one comprehensive diagnostic interviews with job seekers to assess their needs, skills, and employment barriers.
- Develop tailored action plans and support strategies, setting realistic and achievable goals.
- Provide advice and guidance on job search techniques, CV writing, interview preparation, and career development.
- Facilitate and deliver engaging group workshops on various employability topics.
- Act as a primary point of contact for a caseload of clients, offering ongoing encouragement and support.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with local employers, training providers, and community partners.
- Monitor client progress, maintain accurate records, and report on outcomes in line with organisational standards.
- Signpost clients to appropriate external agencies and support services where necessary.
- Stay updated on local labour market trends, job opportunities, and welfare-to-work policies.
- Contribute to team meetings and collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and ensure consistent service delivery.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a coaching, advisory, or support role, ideally within employment services or the public sector.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly and effectively.
- Strong empathetic listening skills and the ability to motivate and inspire individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Demonstrable experience in case management and developing personalised action plans.
- Proficiency in using IT systems for client management, data entry, and communication.
- Solid understanding of the UK labour market and employment challenges.
- Ability to manage a demanding caseload and work effectively under pressure.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail for record-keeping and compliance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant qualification in careers guidance, coaching, social work, or a related field.
- Experience working with vulnerable adults or individuals facing complex barriers to employment.
- Knowledge of local community resources and support networks in the Birmingham/Solihull area.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (desirable for outreach activities).
