Job Description
As a crucial member of our commercial HVAC installation team, the Sheet Metal Installer will play a pivotal role in the successful completion of a diverse range of projects across Blades, Seaford, and surrounding areas. Key Responsibilities
- Fabricate, assemble, and install various sheet metal products and equipment, primarily commercial HVAC ductwork and related components.
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to determine proper installation methods and sequences.
- Measure, cut, bend, crimp, and shape sheet metal using hand tools, power tools, and specialized machinery such as brakes, shears, and rollers.
- Ensure all installations comply with local building codes, industry standards (e.g., SMACNA), and company safety regulations.
- Inspect installations for conformance to specifications, operational requirements, and quality standards.
- Collaborate effectively with project managers, other trades, and team members to ensure timely project completion.
- Troubleshoot and resolve installation issues, making on-site adjustments as necessary.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.
- Provide mentorship to junior installers or apprentices as required.
Required Skills
- Minimum 3 years of proven experience as a Sheet Metal Installer, specifically in commercial HVAC.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
- Expertise in using hand tools, power tools, and sheet metal fabrication equipment (e.g., shears, brakes, roll formers).
- Strong understanding of commercial HVAC systems and ductwork installation principles.
- Excellent spatial reasoning and problem-solving abilities.
- Adherence to strict safety protocols and procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy materials, work at heights, and in various weather conditions.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Journeyman Sheet Metal Worker certification.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
- Experience with welding (MIG, TIG, or Stick) is a plus.
- Familiarity with various types of insulation and duct sealing techniques.
- Experience operating forklifts or scissor lifts (certification preferred).
