Job Description

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals eager to begin a career in logistics and supply chain management. As an Inventory Control Specialist, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate inventory records, optimizing warehouse efficiency, and ensuring the smooth flow of products from receiving to shipment. In this role, you will be responsible for tracking inventory movement, conducting regular cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, and assisting with the organization of our warehouse. You will utilize our inventory management system to record data, generate reports, and support decision-making processes that impact our operational success. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily cycle counts and physical inventory checks to ensure accuracy of stock levels.
  • Investigate and reconcile inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Utilize inventory management software to record incoming and outgoing stock, transfers, and adjustments.
  • Assist in organizing and maintaining the warehouse layout for optimal efficiency and product accessibility.
  • Prepare regular inventory reports and summaries for management review.
  • Collaborate with receiving, shipping, and production teams to ensure seamless inventory flow.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures in the warehouse environment.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory accuracy and warehouse operations.
  • Learn and apply best practices in inventory management and supply chain logistics.

Required Skills

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Basic computer proficiency (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations accurately.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs as needed.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proactive attitude and willingness to learn.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a warehouse or retail environment.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems (IMS) or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software.
  • Associate's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Forklift certification or willingness to obtain one.
