Key Responsibilities
- Operate company vehicles safely and efficiently according to company policies and traffic laws.
- Follow planned routes and schedules for deliveries and pickups within the specified service area.
- Load and unload goods, ensuring proper securing and handling to prevent damage.
- Perform routine pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and report any mechanical issues.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, manifest sheets, and other required documentation.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, team members, and customers regarding delivery status or issues.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company procedures.
- Ensure the cleanliness and presentability of the assigned vehicle.
- Report any incidents, accidents, or delays to the appropriate personnel promptly.
- Represent Career.zycto professionally and courteously at all times while on duty.
Required Skills
- Valid Class 5 (or equivalent) driver's license for British Columbia.
- Clean driving record (driver's abstract may be required upon offer).
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
- Ability to follow directions and learn new procedures quickly.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical ability to load, unload, and move packages up to 50 lbs (with assistance if heavier).
- Strong commitment to safety protocols and responsible driving.
- Basic time management and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Burnaby and the wider Greater Vancouver road network.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Basic mechanical aptitude or understanding of vehicle operation.
