Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and meticulous Storekeeper – Warehouse Floor to join our growing team in Prestwich, Manchester. This pivotal role is responsible for the efficient and accurate management of inventory within our busy warehouse environment. Key Responsibilities
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming goods, verifying against purchase orders and reporting discrepancies.
- Accurately store goods in designated locations, ensuring proper rotation and accessibility.
- Pick, pack, and prepare outgoing shipments according to customer orders and delivery schedules.
- Maintain accurate inventory records through regular stock counts and data entry into the inventory management system.
- Operate warehouse equipment safely, including forklifts and pallet jacks (if certified), for material handling.
- Ensure the warehouse floor is clean, organized, and compliant with all health and safety regulations.
- Assist in the loading and unloading of vehicles, collaborating with drivers and logistics personnel.
- Conduct periodic inventory audits to reconcile physical stock with system records.
- Identify and report any damaged or defective goods, initiating appropriate corrective actions.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for warehouse efficiency and organization.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Storekeeper, Warehouse Operative, or similar role.
- Strong understanding of inventory control principles and warehouse operations.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using inventory management software and basic computer applications.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects safely, often exceeding 20kg.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations within a warehouse environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Forklift operator certification (e.g., counterbalance, reach truck).
- Experience with specific ERP/WMS systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
- GCSEs or equivalent, particularly in Math and English.
- First Aid certification.
- Previous experience in a fast-paced distribution or manufacturing environment.
