As a Pipeline Labourer, you will play a crucial role in the installation, maintenance, and repair of various pipeline systems, including water, gas, and drainage. Your daily tasks will involve manual excavation, assisting skilled tradespeople, ensuring site safety, and preparing worksites for specialized equipment. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist skilled pipe layers and groundworkers with pipeline installation, repair, and maintenance.
  • Perform manual excavation, digging trenches, and backfilling.
  • Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Operate hand and power tools under supervision, adhering to safety protocols.
  • Maintain a clean and organized worksite, ensuring adherence to housekeeping standards.
  • Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
  • Support the preparation of sites for machinery and specialized equipment.
  • Assist with the placement and jointing of pipes and fittings.
  • Carry out general site duties as required by the site supervisor.
  • Work collaboratively within a team to meet project deadlines and objectives.

Required Skills

  • Physical fitness and ability to perform strenuous manual labour.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Basic understanding of construction site safety procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn and take direction.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Awareness of risk assessment and method statements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a construction or manual labour role (6-12 months).
  • CSCS card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme).
  • Basic knowledge of pipe-laying techniques.
  • First Aid at Work certification.
  • Experience operating basic hand and power tools safely.
