Job Description
Career.zycto is actively seeking a diligent and highly dependable Security Guard to join our team for the night shift, ensuring the safety and security of our premises in Beeston, Nottingham. This is a critical role that demands exceptional observational skills, a proactive approach to potential threats, and the ability to act decisively under pressure. As a Night Shift Security Guard, you will be the vigilant eye protecting our assets, employees, and visitors during non-operational hours, playing a pivotal role in maintaining a secure and orderly environment.
Your primary responsibility will be to perform regular patrols, both internal and external, checking for any signs of unauthorised access, vandalism, or potential hazards. You will be responsible for monitoring surveillance equipment, responding to alarms, and investigating disturbances. Maintaining accurate records of all incidents, observations, and activities throughout your shift is paramount. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular foot patrols of the property, both interior and exterior, to deter crime and ensure safety.
- Monitor CCTV cameras and other surveillance equipment to identify and address security breaches.
- Respond promptly to alarms and investigate disturbances, reporting incidents accurately.
- Control access to the premises, verifying credentials for authorised personnel and visitors.
- Maintain detailed records of daily activities, observations, and incidents in a logbook.
- Enforce company policies and procedures related to security and safety.
- Liaise with emergency services (police, fire, ambulance) as required.
- Identify and report safety hazards or maintenance issues discovered during patrols.
- Perform routine checks on doors, windows, and gates to ensure they are secure.
- Provide a visible security presence to prevent theft, damage, or other illegal activities.
Required Skills
- SIA Licence (Door Supervisor or Security Guarding)
- Proven experience in a security role, preferably night shift operations
- Excellent observational and communication skills
- Ability to write clear and concise incident reports
- Strong understanding of security protocols and emergency procedures
- Physical fitness to conduct regular patrols and stand for extended periods
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure
Preferred Qualifications
- First Aid/CPR certification
- Experience with CCTV monitoring systems
- Previous experience in a corporate or commercial security environment
