Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain a wide range of audio equipment including microphones, mixing consoles, digital audio workstations (DAWs), and outboard gear.
- Conduct recording sessions, ensuring optimal microphone placement, gain staging, and signal integrity for various instruments and vocals.
- Mix and master audio tracks to industry standards, applying techniques such as equalization, compression, reverb, and delay to achieve a polished, professional sound.
- Collaborate with producers, directors, and other creative team members to understand project requirements and deliver audio that aligns with artistic vision.
- Perform sound design and audio post-production for multimedia projects, including syncing audio to video and creating sound effects.
- Troubleshoot technical issues with audio equipment and software promptly to minimize downtime during productions.
- Manage and organize audio files, sessions, and projects effectively for efficient workflow and archiving.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in audio technology, software, and production techniques.
- Provide technical support for live sound setups and events as needed, including system calibration and stage management.
- Ensure all audio outputs are free from noise, distortion, and other artifacts, maintaining pristine audio quality.
Required Skills
- Proficiency with industry-standard DAWs (e.g., Pro Tools, Logic Pro X, Ableton Live, FL Studio).
- Strong understanding of acoustics, psychoacoustics, and audio signal flow.
- Demonstrated expertise in mixing and mastering techniques.
- Experience with various microphone types and their appropriate applications.
- Familiarity with sound design principles and practices.
- Ability to troubleshoot audio hardware and software issues.
