Key Responsibilities

  • Perform accurate and timely entry, enrichment, and maintenance of music metadata (e.g., artist names, titles, genres, composers, release dates, ISRC/UPC codes) for digital distribution.
  • Conduct thorough quality assurance checks on existing metadata to identify and correct discrepancies, errors, or inconsistencies.
  • Ensure all metadata adheres to internal style guides, industry best practices (e.g., DDEX, ID3 tags), and platform-specific requirements.
  • Research and verify metadata information using various authoritative sources, resolving conflicts or missing data points.
  • Collaborate with content operations, product, and legal teams to resolve complex metadata issues and improve data workflows.
  • Monitor and implement updates to metadata standards and industry guidelines.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of metadata tools and processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience with music metadata standards and schemas (e.g., DDEX, ID3 tags, CWR).
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical skills for data validation and problem-solving.
  • Proficiency in database management systems and advanced spreadsheet software (e.g., Excel, Google Sheets).
  • Deep understanding of the digital music landscape, including streaming services, distribution models, and rights management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Music Business, Library Science, Data Management, or a related field.
