Career.zycto is actively seeking a full-time Security Guard to join our valued team, serving critical public sector establishments across Canton, Cardiff. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular patrols of designated areas, both internal and external, to ensure security and detect any irregularities.
  • Monitor CCTV systems and alarms, responding promptly and effectively to all alerts.
  • Control access to premises, verifying credentials for all personnel and visitors.
  • Respond to incidents such as disturbances, medical emergencies, or security breaches in accordance with established procedures.
  • Complete detailed incident reports and daily activity logs accurately and thoroughly.
  • Liaise effectively with emergency services, site management, and colleagues during incidents or routine operations.
  • Enforce site rules and regulations, ensuring compliance and maintaining a safe environment for all occupants.
  • Assist with building evacuations and other emergency procedures as required.

Required Skills

  • Valid SIA (Security Industry Authority) Door Supervisor or Security Guarding Licence.
  • Proven experience in a security role, preferably within a public sector or similar high-footfall environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of interacting professionally with diverse groups.
  • Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and respond calmly to emergency situations.
  • Basic IT proficiency for report writing and system monitoring.
  • A full UK driving licence (desirable, but not always essential depending on specific site requirements).

Preferred Qualifications

  • First Aid at Work qualification.
  • Previous experience in public sector security or law enforcement.
  • Conflict Resolution training.
