Key Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture accurately and efficiently on patients of all ages, adhering to established protocols and safety guidelines.
- Verify patient identity and requisition information, ensuring correct labeling and handling of all specimens.
- Prepare blood samples for laboratory testing, including centrifugation and distribution to appropriate departments.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sterile work area, ensuring all equipment and supplies are readily available and properly stored.
- Monitor and manage phlebotomy supplies, ordering new stock as needed to prevent shortages.
- Provide clear, empathetic communication to patients regarding procedures, answering questions and addressing concerns to ensure a positive experience.
- Accurately document all procedures and patient information in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Adhere strictly to all clinic policies, infection control measures, and waste disposal procedures.
- Assist with other general clinic duties as required to support smooth daily operations.
Required Skills
- Proven proficiency in venipuncture techniques for various patient demographics.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-focused approach.
