Key Responsibilities
- Complete comprehensive, paid training to master the installation, maintenance, and repair of broadband services (internet, television, phone) for residential and business customers.
- Install and configure modems, routers, set-top boxes, and other telecommunication equipment with precision and efficiency.
- Perform wiring and cabling tasks, including running and terminating coaxial, fiber optic, and Ethernet cables both indoors and outdoors.
- Conduct thorough testing of services to ensure optimal signal strength, bandwidth, and functionality.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to broadband connectivity and equipment.
- Educate customers on how to use their new services and equipment, providing clear and concise instructions.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and industry standards while performing installations and repairs.
- Maintain accurate records of installations, service calls, and equipment used.
- Operate company vehicles safely and maintain tools and equipment in good working order.
- Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring a positive experience and addressing customer concerns professionally.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving abstract.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working with hand and power tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with customers and team members.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
- Physical ability to lift up to 75 lbs, climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- A strong desire to learn and adapt to new technologies.
- Problem-solving skills and a methodical approach to technical challenges.
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in a technical field is an asset but not required.
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role.
- Basic understanding of electronics or network concepts.
- Familiarity with safety procedures for working at heights or with electrical equipment.
