Job Description

Career.zycto is actively seeking a skilled and dedicated Welder to join our dynamic manufacturing team in Fetcham, Leatherhead. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity for an individual passionate about metal fabrication and committed to producing high-quality components.

As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of welding tasks, predominantly using MIG and TIG techniques, on a range of materials including mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium. Your expertise will contribute directly to the creation of bespoke and standardised parts critical to our clients’ operations across various sectors. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform MIG, TIG, and potentially other welding processes on various materials including mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine layout and procedure.
  • Set up, operate, and maintain welding equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
  • Inspect finished welds for quality, integrity, and compliance with standards, using appropriate measuring tools.
  • Prepare materials for welding by cutting, grinding, and cleaning surfaces.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve minor issues with welding equipment.
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including wearing appropriate PPE.
  • Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and engineers to ensure project deadlines and quality standards are met.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work area.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing process.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Welder in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
  • Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding techniques.
  • Ability to read and accurately interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Strong understanding of metal properties and welding parameters.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Solid understanding of safety procedures and best practices in welding.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant welding certifications (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ Level 2/3 in Fabrication & Welding).
  • Experience with other welding processes such as Stick (MMA) welding.
  • Forklift license.
  • Experience with precision measuring instruments.
