Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Quality Manager to join our client’s dedicated team in Oshawa, Ontario. As a Quality Manager, you will be instrumental in overseeing all aspects of quality assurance and control, ensuring that products and processes meet the highest standards of excellence and regulatory compliance. This pivotal role requires a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach, capable of leading initiatives that drive continuous improvement and foster a culture of quality throughout the organization. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining robust quality management systems, conducting regular audits, and collaborating closely with various departments to embed quality principles at every stage of production and service delivery. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO standards and other relevant industry regulations.
  • Lead and manage all quality control and quality assurance activities, including inspections, testing, and process audits.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, reduce defects, and optimize operational efficiency.
  • Oversee the management of non-conformances, corrective actions (CAPA), and preventive actions, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  • Conduct internal and external audits, facilitating third-party audits and ensuring compliance with all quality standards.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to integrate quality requirements throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Develop and deliver quality training programs for employees at all levels.
  • Analyze quality data and metrics to identify trends, root causes, and areas for improvement.
  • Prepare comprehensive quality reports for senior management, detailing performance, issues, and improvement plans.
  • Manage and mentor a team of quality professionals, fostering their growth and development.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in quality management roles, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and other relevant quality standards (e.g., IATF 16949, AS9100).
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, and maintain Quality Management Systems (QMS).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach.
  • Proficiency in root cause analysis methodologies (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams).
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing across all organizational levels.
  • Advanced proficiency with quality assurance tools and techniques.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical field.
  • Certified Quality Manager (CQM) or Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) designation.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
  • Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and quality management software.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance in specific industries (e.g., automotive, aerospace, food production).
