Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Studio Equipment Coordinator to join our vibrant team in Jacksonville, Florida. This critical role is responsible for ensuring the operational excellence of our studio facilities. The Studio Equipment Coordinator is the guardian of our technical assets, overseeing the meticulous organization, maintenance, and inventory management of all studio production equipment. From cameras, lenses, and lighting kits to audio gear, grip equipment, and control room consoles, you will be the expert ensuring every piece is accounted for, fully functional, and ready for deployment at a moment’s notice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain a comprehensive inventory system for all studio equipment, including cameras, lenses, lighting, audio gear, grip equipment, and accessories.
  • Conduct regular inspections, cleaning, and preventative maintenance on all equipment to ensure optimal functionality, longevity, and readiness.
  • Coordinate equipment check-outs and check-ins for productions, ensuring accurate documentation, proper sign-off, and tracking of usage.
  • Prepare and set up equipment for various productions, shoots, and events, ensuring all gear is correctly configured, tested, and calibrated.
  • Troubleshoot and perform minor equipment malfunctions and repairs; coordinate with external vendors and service providers for major repairs or specialized maintenance when necessary.
  • Train studio personnel and production teams on proper equipment handling, usage, and safety protocols to minimize damage and ensure safe operation.
  • Research and recommend new equipment purchases, upgrades, and technologies to enhance studio capabilities and keep us at the forefront of production standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe equipment storage area, ensuring easy access and efficient workflow.
  • Assist with budgeting and procurement processes related to equipment maintenance, repair, and acquisition.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all safety regulations and operational best practices within the studio environment.

Required Skills

  • Proven proficiency in inventory management software and systems.
  • Strong technical understanding of professional video, audio, and lighting equipment across various manufacturers.
  • Excellent organizational, multitasking, and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on studio equipment effectively.

  • Physical ability to lift and move equipment (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods as required by studio operations.
