Are you a skilled Landscaper with a passion for cultivating beautiful outdoor environments? Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and experienced Gardener to join a dynamic team, working on a variety of exciting projects across Rufforth, York, and the surrounding areas. This is an immediate hiring opportunity for someone who loves working outdoors, has an eye for detail, and takes pride in their work.
In this role, you will be instrumental in maintaining and enhancing diverse landscapes, from private residential gardens to commercial properties. You’ll be responsible for a wide array of tasks that contribute to the aesthetic appeal and health of our clients’ green spaces. Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive garden maintenance, including mowing, strimming, weeding, pruning, and hedge cutting.
- Undertake planting, turfing, mulching, and soil preparation tasks.
- Operate and maintain a variety of landscaping equipment and machinery safely and efficiently (e.g., mowers, blowers, trimmers, rotavators).
- Install and repair hard landscaping features such as paving, decking, and fencing when required.
- Monitor plant health, identify pests/diseases, and apply appropriate treatments.
- Ensure all work is carried out to a high standard, adhering to design specifications and client expectations.
- Manage waste effectively and maintain a clean and tidy work environment.
- Communicate professionally with clients, team members, and suppliers.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations on site.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in landscaping or professional gardening.
- Demonstrable knowledge of horticulture, including plant identification, care, and maintenance.
- Proficiency in operating a range of garden machinery and hand tools.
- Strong physical fitness and stamina to perform demanding outdoor tasks in all weather conditions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Full UK driving license with a clean record.
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification in Horticulture or Landscaping.
- PA1/PA6 spraying certificates.
- Experience with advanced hard landscaping techniques.
- Trailer towing endorsement (B+E).
