Key Responsibilities

  • Warmly welcome and check-in guests, ensuring a smooth and efficient process.
  • Handle guest inquiries, requests, and complaints promptly and professionally, aiming for swift resolution and guest satisfaction.
  • Provide comprehensive information about hotel services, facilities, and local attractions, including the York Designer Outlet.
  • Assist with reservations, changes, and cancellations with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Coordinate special requests such as wake-up calls, taxi services, and restaurant bookings.
  • Maintain an organised and presentable front desk area.
  • Collaborate effectively with other hotel departments (housekeeping, F&B, maintenance) to ensure guest needs are met.
  • Process payments and maintain accurate guest accounts.
  • Promote hotel amenities and loyalty programs to enhance guest experience and retention.
  • Adhere to all hotel policies, procedures, and safety regulations.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in a customer-facing role, preferably within hospitality.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
  • A genuine passion for delivering outstanding customer service.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in fast-paced or challenging situations.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive attitude.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills and familiarity with hotel management software (PMS) is a plus.

  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A degree or diploma in Hospitality Management or a related field.
  • Previous experience as a Guest Relations Assistant or Front Desk Agent in a hotel environment.
  • Fluency in additional languages beyond English.
  • Knowledge of the local York area, including tourist attractions and dining options.
