Career.zycto is seeking a Part-Time Care Assistant to join our growing team in Kitale, Trans-Nzoia County. Key Responsibilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living, including personal care (bathing, dressing, grooming) in a respectful and dignified manner.
- Provide companionship and emotional support, engaging clients in conversation and stimulating activities.
- Assist with mobility and transfers, ensuring client safety and comfort.
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding as required.
- Administer medication reminders and assist clients in managing their medication schedules.
- Perform light housekeeping duties, such as tidying living areas, laundry, and maintaining a clean environment.
- Assist clients with errands, appointments, and community engagement as needed.
- Monitor and report any changes in the client's health, behaviour, or well-being to the senior care coordinator.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of care provided and client observations.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Care Assistant or similar role (at least 6 months).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of empathy, patience, and compassion.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Basic knowledge of first aid and emergency procedures.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
- Physical ability to assist clients with mobility and perform light housekeeping tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certificate in Home Care, Nursing Aide, or a related field.
- Valid driving license and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Fluency in additional local languages (e.g., Swahili, Luhya).
- Experience working with individuals with dementia or other specific health conditions.
