Career.zycto is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Stage Lighting Technician for an immediate start in Scarborough, North Yorkshire. Key Responsibilities
- Operate and program lighting consoles for various live events, including theatre, music, and corporate functions.
- Set up, focus, and maintain a wide range of lighting fixtures, including moving heads, LED lighting, and conventional luminaires.
- Conduct pre-show checks, fault finding, and routine maintenance on all lighting equipment.
- Assist with the design and implementation of lighting plots under the direction of a Lighting Designer or Technical Manager.
- Manage and organize lighting inventories, ensuring all equipment is in excellent working order and safely stored.
- Collaborate effectively with other technical departments (sound, stage management, AV) to ensure seamless production delivery.
- Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations, conducting risk assessments where necessary.
- Provide technical support during rehearsals and performances, responding promptly to any issues.
- Keep abreast of new lighting technologies and techniques, contributing to continuous improvement.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of proven experience as a Stage Lighting Technician or similar role in live events.
- Proficiency in operating digital lighting consoles (e.g., ETC, Avolites, GrandMA).
- Strong understanding of DMX, Art-Net, and other lighting control protocols.
- Ability to read and interpret lighting plots and technical drawings.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills for lighting systems and equipment.
- Solid knowledge of electrical safety practices and manual handling.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as dictated by production schedules.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant technical qualification or certification in lighting design/technology.
- Experience with CAD software for lighting design (e.g., Vectorworks Spotlight).
- Knowledge of video projection and media server operation.
- IPAF or similar working at height certification.
- First Aid certification.
