Key Responsibilities

  • Design, create, and implement high-quality original sound effects, foley, and ambient audio for various projects.
  • Collaborate closely with creative teams (e.g., producers, artists, developers) to understand project vision and audio requirements.
  • Develop and maintain audio pipelines, ensuring efficient workflow and optimal integration of sound assets.
  • Record, edit, and mix audio content, ensuring technical quality, consistency, and adherence to project specifications.
  • Utilise digital audio workstations (DAWs) and audio middleware (e.g., Wwise, FMOD) for sound design and implementation.
  • Troubleshoot and debug audio-related issues, working with technical teams to resolve problems.
  • Actively participate in feedback sessions and iterate on sound designs based on creative direction.
  • Stay current with industry trends, tools, and best practices in sound design and audio technology.
  • Manage time effectively to meet deadlines within a flexible working hour structure.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Sound Designer with a strong portfolio showcasing original work.
  • Expert proficiency with digital audio workstations (DAWs) such as Pro Tools, Logic Pro, or Ableton Live.
  • Strong understanding of audio recording, editing, mixing, and mastering principles.
  • Proficiency in creating a wide range of sound effects, including organic, synthetic, and designed sounds.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a flexible environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrated creative problem-solving abilities and a keen ear for detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Audio Engineering, Sound Design, Music Production, or a related field.
  • Experience with audio middleware like Wwise or FMOD.
  • Familiarity with game engines (e.g., Unity, Unreal Engine) and their audio implementation processes.
  • Experience with field recording and microphone techniques.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages relevant to audio implementation (e.g., C#, Python) is a bonus.
  • Previous experience in media production (film, TV, gaming, interactive installations).
