Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Battery Technician to join our growing team in Sydney. As a Battery Technician, you will be instrumental in the assembly, testing, diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of various battery systems across a range of applications, including industrial, automotive, and renewable energy storage. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of battery chemistry, electrical principles, and safety protocols, demonstrating meticulous attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspection, testing, and maintenance of various battery types, including lead-acid, lithium-ion, and nickel-cadmium systems.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot battery malfunctions, identifying root causes and implementing effective repair strategies.
  • Conduct battery assembly and installation in accordance with technical specifications and safety standards.
  • Utilize specialized diagnostic tools and equipment to assess battery performance and health.
  • Maintain accurate records of battery tests, maintenance activities, and inventory.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all workplace health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to provide feedback on battery performance and design improvements.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to clients and internal staff regarding battery operations and care.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Battery Technician or in a related electrical/mechanical role.
  • Strong understanding of electrical circuits, Ohm's Law, and battery theory.
  • Proficiency in using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and battery testing equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
  • Valid Australian driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Trade qualification in Electrical, Automotive, or a related technical field.
  • Experience with high-voltage battery systems and electric vehicle (EV) batteries.
  • Knowledge of battery management systems (BMS) and charging technologies.
  • Familiarity with renewable energy storage solutions (e.g., solar, UPS).
  • First Aid certification.
