Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain network hardware and software, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Monitor network performance, identify potential issues, and implement proactive solutions to ensure optimal uptime and efficiency.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity issues, diagnose hardware and software faults, and provide timely resolution.
- Perform regular network upgrades and security patches to safeguard against vulnerabilities.
- Document network configurations, changes, and troubleshooting procedures accurately.
- Provide technical support to end-users and other departments regarding network-related queries.
- Collaborate with senior network engineers and IT teams on complex projects and system integrations.
- Maintain inventory of network equipment and manage vendor relationships for hardware and software procurement.
- Ensure compliance with company security policies and industry best practices.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in TCP/IP networking, routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP), and switching concepts (VLANs, STP).
- Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, or equivalent network equipment.
- Strong understanding of network security principles and firewall management.
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools and protocols (SNMP, syslog).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- At least 3 years of experience in network administration or support.
Preferred Qualifications
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent certification.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Knowledge of scripting languages for network automation (e.g., Python).
