Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and lead a variety of recreational activities and programs for diverse age groups.
- Supervise participants during activities to ensure safety and positive engagement.
- Prepare and maintain recreational equipment and facilities, ensuring they are clean and in good working order.
- Promote program participation through effective communication and outreach within the community.
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of events, ensuring smooth operation.
- Respond to inquiries from participants and parents/guardians, providing accurate information and excellent customer service.
- Administer basic first aid when necessary and adhere strictly to all safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Monitor participant behavior and resolve conflicts in a constructive and positive manner.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, equipment usage, and incident reports.
Required Skills
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills in Portuguese.
- Proven ability to plan, organize, and execute engaging recreational activities.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Basic knowledge of first aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain within 3 months of hire).
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Energetic, patient, and enthusiastic demeanor with a passion for community engagement.
- Problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing situations.
- Physical stamina to lead active programs and lift moderate weights.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience (1+ year) in a recreation, youth development, hospitality, or similar role.
- Knowledge of local cultural activities and community dynamics in Namutequeliua.
- Proficiency in additional local languages (e.g., Macua, Emakhuwa).
- Certification in specific recreational activities (e.g., sports coaching, arts & crafts, lifeguard training).
- Secondary school certificate or equivalent.
