Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage highly available Kubernetes clusters across cloud environments (e.g., EKS, GKE, AKS) and potentially on-premise.
- Develop and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines for Kubernetes deployments using modern tools like GitLab CI, ArgoCD, Jenkins, or similar.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration through Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
- Monitor cluster health, performance, and resource utilization, implementing proactive alerts, logging solutions, and auto-scaling strategies.
- Troubleshoot complex issues related to Kubernetes, container networking, storage, and application deployments in production environments.
- Ensure security best practices are rigorously implemented across Kubernetes environments, including access controls, network policies, and vulnerability management.
- Collaborate closely with development teams to optimize application deployment strategies, containerization best practices, and microservices architecture.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to provide timely support for critical production systems.
- Research, evaluate, and integrate new technologies and tools to continuously improve our cloud-native stack and development workflows.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for infrastructure, processes, and best practices.
Required Skills
- 3+ years of proven professional experience with Kubernetes administration, deployment, and troubleshooting in a production setting.
- Strong understanding and hands-on experience with containerization technologies, especially Docker.
- Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language (e.g., Python, Bash, Go).
- Extensive experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
- Solid understanding of Linux operating systems, networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, Load Balancing), and distributed systems.
- Experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their relevant services.
- Familiarity with CI/CD principles and practical experience with related tools.
- Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, Datadog).
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, with an ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Kubernetes certifications (CKA, CKAD, CKS).
- Experience with service meshes (e.g., Istio, Linkerd).
- Knowledge of GitOps principles and tools (e.g., ArgoCD, Flux CD).
- Experience with database systems (SQL, NoSQL) in a cloud-native context.
- Contributions to open-source projects or active participation in the cloud-native community.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
