Career.zycto is seeking a highly skilled and innovative Automation Robotics Engineer to join our growing team in Kinning Park, Glasgow. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle of automation projects, from initial concept and feasibility studies through to detailed design, programming, testing, installation, and ongoing support.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement robotic cells and automated systems, including end-of-arm tooling, sensors, and safety features.
- Program industrial robots (e.g., KUKA, ABB, Fanuc, Universal Robots) for various tasks such as pick-and-place, welding, assembly, and material handling.
- Develop and configure PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) programs for machine control and integration with robotic systems.
- Perform system integration, testing, and validation of automated equipment to ensure functionality, performance, and safety compliance.
- Conduct feasibility studies and generate detailed project proposals, including cost estimates, timelines, and technical specifications.
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software engineering teams to ensure seamless system design and deployment.
- Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and maintenance for installed robotic and automation systems.
- Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including electrical schematics, program logic, and operational manuals.
- Ensure all designs and implementations adhere to relevant industry standards and safety regulations (e.g., CE, OSHA, ISO).
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, researching new technologies and recommending upgrades to existing systems.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Automation, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- 3+ years of professional experience in industrial automation and robotics.
- Proficiency in programming industrial robots (e.g., KUKA, ABB, Fanuc, Universal Robots).
- Strong knowledge and experience with PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell/Allen-Bradley).
- Familiarity with HMI/SCADA system design and integration.
- Solid understanding of industrial control systems, sensors, actuators, and vision systems.
- Experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for system layout and component design.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Experience with simulation software for robot path planning and cell design (e.g., RoboDK, Process Simulate).
- Knowledge of various communication protocols (e.g., EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, Modbus).
- Familiarity with Industry 4.0 concepts and IoT integration.
