Key Responsibilities
- Load and unload passenger luggage, cargo, and mail onto and from aircraft, carts, and conveyances.
- Operate various ground support equipment safely, including tugs, belt loaders, and forklifts (with proper training/certification).
- Sort and transfer luggage according to flight numbers and destinations, ensuring timely delivery.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, company policies, and aviation security procedures.
- Inspect luggage and equipment for damage and report any issues promptly.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment on the ramp and baggage handling areas.
- Communicate effectively with team members, pilots, and other airport personnel.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support efficient airport operations.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift heavy luggage (up to 50 lbs/23 kg) regularly and perform strenuous physical tasks.
- Strong sense of responsibility and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow).
- Availability to work flexible shifts, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a physically demanding role, such as warehousing, construction, or logistics.
- Experience operating ground support equipment.
