Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and skilled EV Charging Technician to join our rapidly expanding team in Pointe-Claire, Montreal. As the demand for electric vehicles surges, the need for robust, reliable charging infrastructure is more critical than ever. In this pivotal role, you will be on the front lines, ensuring our charging stations operate flawlessly, providing essential power to EV drivers across the region. You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of various EV charging systems, from Level 2 chargers to DC Fast Chargers. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of EV charging stations (Level 2 and DC Fast Chargers) in residential, commercial, and public settings.
  • Conduct diagnostic tests and troubleshooting to identify and resolve electrical, network, and hardware issues efficiently.
  • Execute preventative maintenance schedules to ensure optimal performance and longevity of charging infrastructure.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, electrical codes (CEC), and company policies during all field operations.
  • Maintain accurate records of service activities, inventory used, and client interactions using digital tools.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, clearly communicating technical information and resolving inquiries politely and professionally.
  • Collaborate with the engineering and support teams to provide feedback, improve products, and resolve complex technical challenges.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as an Electrician or Field Service Technician, preferably in the electrical or automotive sector.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, circuits, wiring, and safety procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools and test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.).
  • Valid Journeyman Electrician License (or equivalent certification) in Quebec.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for client interaction and teamwork.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with EV charging station brands (e.g., ChargePoint, FLO, ABB, Electrify Canada).
  • Familiarity with network communication protocols (e.g., OCPP).
  • Certification in electric vehicle technology or related fields.
  • Experience working in a remote or field-based service environment.
