Key Responsibilities

  • Perform manual labour such as tree planting, pruning, thinning, and brush clearing.
  • Operate and maintain a variety of forestry equipment, including chainsaws, brush cutters, and other hand tools, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
  • Assist with timber harvesting operations, including felling, bucking, and skidding.
  • Participate in forest inventory and mapping activities, collecting data on tree species, size, and health.
  • Implement forest fire prevention and suppression measures, including building firebreaks and monitoring for hazards.
  • Conduct site preparation for reforestation, including clearing debris and preparing soil.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, environmental regulations, and company policies.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to achieve project goals.
  • Perform basic maintenance and minor repairs on equipment as needed.

Required Skills

  • Physical fitness and stamina to perform demanding outdoor tasks in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to operate and maintain chainsaws and other hand tools safely and efficiently.
  • Strong understanding and adherence to safety procedures and protocols.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic knowledge of tree identification and forestry practices.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
