Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and creative Level Designer to join our dynamic team for an immediate start. As a Level Designer, you will be instrumental in crafting captivating and challenging gameplay experiences from concept to completion. You will work closely with game designers, artists, and programmers to translate core game mechanics into immersive and memorable environments. This role demands a keen eye for detail, a deep understanding of player psychology, and a passion for creating truly engaging interactive spaces.

You’ll be responsible for layout, pacing, environmental storytelling, puzzle design, and encounter scripting. Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement engaging and challenging levels, from blockout to final polish, ensuring optimal player flow and pacing.
  • Collaborate with game designers, artists, and programmers to integrate gameplay mechanics, visual elements, and technical constraints into level designs.
  • Create detailed documentation for level layouts, objectives, puzzles, and encounter designs.
  • Iterate on level designs based on playtesting feedback, team reviews, and project goals.
  • Script gameplay events, triggers, and sequences using in-engine tools.
  • Conduct thorough playtesting and bug fixing for levels, ensuring a high-quality player experience.
  • Contribute to the overall game design vision, offering creative solutions and innovative ideas for new content and features.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, tools, and best practices in level design.

Required Skills

  • 2+ years of professional experience in Level Design within the gaming industry.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard game engines (e.g., Unity, Unreal Engine) and their respective level editing tools.
  • Strong understanding of game design principles, player psychology, and narrative integration into levels.
  • Proven ability to create compelling environments, puzzles, and combat encounters.
  • Experience with scripting languages or visual scripting tools (e.g., Blueprint, C#) for gameplay events.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing previous level design work.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Game Design, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience with procedural generation techniques.
  • Knowledge of 3D modeling software (e.g., Maya, Blender) for basic asset manipulation.
