Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth financial research and analysis on companies, industries, and economic trends, specifically within the East African region.
  • Develop and maintain complex financial models, including valuation, forecasting, and scenario analysis to support investment recommendations.
  • Prepare detailed investment memoranda, presentations, and reports for internal teams and potential clients.
  • Monitor existing portfolio performance, track market developments, and provide ongoing updates to senior analysts and portfolio managers.
  • Assist in due diligence processes for new investment opportunities, evaluating risk and potential returns.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including portfolio management, research, and client relations, to achieve investment objectives.
  • Stay abreast of global and local financial market developments, regulatory changes, and emerging investment themes.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in financial modeling, valuation techniques (DCF, multiples, etc.), and financial statement analysis.
  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in advanced Excel functions and financial databases (e.g., Bloomberg, Refinitiv Eikon).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports and presentations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Solid understanding of capital markets, investment strategies, and economic principles.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CFA Level I candidacy or completion is highly regarded.
