Key Responsibilities
- Perform 24/7 (on-call rotation basis) monitoring and analysis of security events from SIEM, EDR, and other security tools to identify potential threats and anomalies.
- Execute incident response procedures, including containment, eradication, recovery, and post-incident analysis.
- Develop, implement, and fine-tune SIEM correlation rules, dashboards, and reports to enhance threat detection capabilities.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing activities, providing recommendations for remediation.
- Participate in the evaluation, deployment, and management of security tools and technologies.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of security policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Provide expert guidance and support to internal teams on security-related matters.
- Stay current with the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Security Operations Centre (SOC) or similar cybersecurity role.
- Proficiency with SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, Elastic SIEM) for log analysis and incident investigation.
- Strong understanding of network protocols, operating systems (Windows, Linux), and cloud environments (Azure, AWS, GCP).
- Experience with incident response processes and frameworks (e.g., NIST, SANS).
- Familiarity with various attack vectors, threat intelligence, and common cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., MITRE ATT&CK).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant industry certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CySA+, CEH, GCIH, CCNA Security, or equivalent.
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation and data analysis.
- Knowledge of forensic investigation techniques.
- Experience in cloud security monitoring and incident response.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
