Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive penetration tests on web applications, mobile applications, network infrastructure, and cloud environments.
- Identify, exploit, and document security vulnerabilities and weaknesses using industry-standard tools and manual techniques.
- Develop detailed reports outlining findings, risks, and actionable recommendations for remediation.
- Collaborate with development teams and system administrators to explain vulnerabilities and advise on effective mitigation strategies.
- Stay abreast of the latest security trends, vulnerabilities, tools, and best practices in the penetration testing landscape.
- Participate in the continuous improvement of testing methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members when required.
- Assist in pre-sales activities, scoping engagements, and communicating technical capabilities to prospective clients.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in conducting various types of penetration tests (web, mobile, network, API).
- Strong understanding of common security vulnerabilities (OWASP Top 10, SANS Top 25) and attack vectors.
- Proficiency with penetration testing tools such as Burp Suite, Metasploit, Nmap, Wireshark, Nessus, Acunetix.
- Solid knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP/S, DNS) and operating systems (Linux, Windows).
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash) for automation and exploit development.
- Excellent report writing and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant industry certifications such as OSCP, OSCE, eCPPT, CEH, GWAPT, GPEN, OSWE.
- Experience with cloud security assessments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Knowledge of secure coding principles and development practices.
- Experience with red teaming or adversary simulation exercises.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related technical field.
