Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, prepare, and proofread legal documents, correspondence, pleadings, and agreements with precision.
  • Conduct thorough legal research using various databases and resources to support case preparation and strategies.
  • Manage and organize physical and electronic case files, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and accessibility.
  • Assist lawyers in preparing for hearings, trials, and meetings, including document assembly, exhibit preparation, and witness coordination.
  • Liaise professionally with clients, court personnel, opposing counsel, and third parties, maintaining clear communication.
  • Schedule appointments, court dates, and meetings, proactively managing calendars and deadlines.
  • Process and track invoices, expenses, and billing information, ensuring proper record-keeping.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and exercise discretion in handling all sensitive legal matters and client information.
  • Perform administrative duties such as scanning, filing, photocopying, and accurate data entry.
  • Assist with compliance and regulatory filings as required by relevant legal bodies and jurisdictions.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience (minimum 2 years) as a Paralegal Assistant or Legal Assistant.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and databases (e.g., LexisNexis, Westlaw).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and French (a strong asset for Quebec-based roles).
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
